Imagine if all the libraries, fire stations, or pre-K centers were built in just one district. It wouldn’t be fair, right? So why does the city insist on placing shelters mostly in working-class neighborhoods?
Every community deserves its fair share of all kinds of civic services. It’s time to address the imbalance so that no single neighborhood is overburdened.
Our neighborhoods need balanced, thoughtful development that benefits all residents, not just the private interests of a few developers. Elected officials should act now to develop equitable solutions for all, including those in need.
